Q ) Do you generalize or specialize in providing massage sessions?
Chair massages - I provide onsite chair massages for a wide variety of people & locations. Including at public & private events such as weddings, parties, wellness events, athletic events, winery & farm harvests.
And at weddings, wineries, businesses, family & friends gatherings at homes & other locations, and additional contexts. You are welcome to contact me to bring chair massages to your preferred location for people to enjoy the benefits of receiving on-site massages as a welcome support to a healthfully thriving, creative & harmonious work - life environment & balance.
Clothed chair massages are also available at my San Rafael office, by appointment.
Table massages - The majority of my table massage clients receive massages as a wellness affirming compliment to maintaining a healthy physical embodiment as part of a healthy lifestyle. And who also appreciative nurturing a meditatively embodying experience of consciousness. Many are involved in yoga, dance, Pilates, qigong, running, gymnastics and other forms of artistic meditative movement, fitness & health promotion practices.
Q ) How often is recommended to receive massages?
There are different answers to this question for different people based on life circumstances and interests.
Generally receiving a massage once a week, every other week or once a month is an enjoyable way of sustaining a healthy, comfortable embodied experience. Sometimes more frequently when one is dealing with or recovering from significant physical, emotional and / or mental stress.
Long standing and significant injuries, postural strain patterns and other issues are usually most effectively addressed by receiving a series of massage sessions consistently over a period of time. In such situations receiving massages at least once a week for a longer duration is required in order to allow the body, emotions & overall energy to gradually release old patterns and transform into healthier, more comfortable alignments & condition.
The more consistently you receive massage sessions with me, the more we discover & flow with your specific needs, preferences & enjoyment for each session, and overall through ongoing sessions.

I sometimes share email or text updates about special offers and scheduling availability. Generally I send these to people who have received from me and expressed appreciation for their massage(s), unless someone specifically requests to not receive such updates.

Some clients express that although they sometimes get caught up in their busy lives and forget about scheduling more sessions, or their income changes and assume they cant afford massages as often as they would enjoy, they still appreciate receiving updates as this helps them remember to prioritize their wellness. Q ) Will massage cure my aching back, hips, joints, etc.?
Depending on the origin, and ones level of physical fitness and daily postural & lifestyle choices, massage often helps reduce or resolve many aches, pains and related issues.

As well as aiding recovery after injuries, sprains, etc ( with a doctors consent ). Often relieving or resolving reduced mobility, pain, energetic stagnation and other symptoms within a couple sessions or a series of sessions. Depending on the severity and type of condition, clients' lifestyle habits, physical fitness, weight, job requirements, etc..

Q. ) If I have specific needs, boundaries or comfort relative to massage, is it okay to say so?
Absolutely! In fact it is a requirement & my boundary that I have and communicate as I am here, and do in person right before starting massages for all people who receive massage from & relating with me, that you proactively directly verbally, clearly & honestly communicate any subjective personal boundaries & preferences you have before and during your massage when & if existing.
I have learned through years of attending various massage schools, learning from many different massage teachers and giving massages for thousands of people, how diversely individuals interpretations, preferences, boundaries, comfort and interests are.
Including relative to receiving massages, the human body, areas included in massages, draping, depth of pressure, pace of massage, amount of talking or quiet, and pretty much anything else. What some people appreciate & enjoy as natural and supportive, some people may interpret as uncomfortable or unfamiliar, and vice versa.
* Examples include some teachers & people receiving massages tend to talk a lot during massages, while others prefer quiet to support a deeper calming & relaxing experience.
* Some teachers taught & some massage recipients enjoy a light to medium pressure, relaxing & flowing quality of massages. While others taught & prefer deeper pressure, a more clinical focus for specific issues, or a blending.
* Some massage teachers only taught & occasionally some people receiving massages prefer clothed massages or heavily draped sessions.While some massage teachers & people receiving massages prefer unclothed massages with less draping.
* Some teachers & massage clients prefer a very conservative massage, even avoiding the whole anterior torso. My intention is to be supportive of your well-being as much as is mutually comfortable and helpful for you at the moment you are receiving your massage. Q. ) Do you offer reduced rate sessions?
Currently my rate is $90 per hour for massages given at my San Rafael office, to accommodate peoples varied income. This is an average rate for quality massage sessions in the San Francisco Bay area.

Q. ) What is your no-show & rescheduling policy?
Any sessions not shown for, cancelled or rescheduled by clients after agreeing to and reserving of my time & trust for, require payment in full received by me within one week of originally scheduled session. As of course these arts - experiences & my time, trust and being deserves equal respect. And appreciatively reliably following through with communicating, making and honoring plans & agreements shows basic mutual respect & appreciation, which is essential to being trustworthy and co-creating harmonious relational synergy.
Payment in full for the cost of any missed session is required and agreed to by virtue of you making the appointment, to be paid to me within one week of your missed, cancelled or rescheduled appointment if cancelled less than 24 hours before agreed upon appointment time.
When you make an appointment with me, this scheduled time becomes reserved for you of course in respect of dedicating full attention to supporting & caring for you and your needs. This prevents other people from being able to schedule and receive a massage during this time, so cancelling, rescheduling or otherwise not showing for your session time effects not only you by your losing the experience of being deeply attended to, it also causes a loss of opportunity for me to support other people who will respect & show for their agreed upon appointment, plus a loss of income for myself.

* Not rushing to feel and claim to be offended. Not using anyone's ( including one's own ) choice to negatively project, to feel & claim to be offended as a manipulative attempt to oppressively violate and censor other people's existence, freedoms of expression and relating.
* Not passive aggressively and or directly lying to or about people & events nor ghosting people. Not passive aggressively manipulatively expecting people to mind read & know & thereby respect one's personal expectations, boundaries and feelings before directly honestly communicating them in a mutually respectful way.
* Communicating openly directly honestly about one's own subjective individual feelings, assumptions, questions, boundaries, preferences expectations & generally with people before expecting to have such understood and equally respected. While respecting my own & others equally.
* Being open-minded, appreciative and inquisitive, rather than dogmatic and negatively assumptively projecting .
* Appreciative of nuance and the natural goodness of the healthy natural human body, affection, openness, offers and experiences of friendship and other kindly intentioned, honest ways of human relating & creativity.

Tai Chi Qigong & Zhan Zhuang Class Q & A :
Q ) How are your classes different from other forms or types of of Tai Chi?
One of the more obvious differences is that classes as I teach them emphasize training of principles more directly in ways, rather than through repetition of longer, prearranged forms of Tai Chi.
While many people are familiar with the images of people practicing preset sequences of movements one after the other in a heavily choreographed manner, that is not the only or the most effective way of gaining refined experiential understanding and embodiment of the core principles of Tai Chi & Qigong. Long forms have their use and benefits, but often when people primarily or exclusively practice long, prearranged forms they give so much attention to the form that the development of the core essence and substance so to speak is neglected over emphasis on following a rote form. At an extreme they may even confuse preset forms to be the heart or essence of Tai Chi.
An example could be learning to write poetry by either spending years transcribing a poem written by someone else over and over again. Copying their words sentence by sentence and paragraph by paragraph. While the poem may be a well-crafted and beautiful poem, it is ultimately not ones' own. Such a method mostly teaches the person transcribing another persons poem how to use the tools of of poetry ( letters, words and punctuation ) to parrot another beings unique, creative expression. If that is all one wishes to do, then that has its benefits.
But for those who wish to develop competency & deeper understanding of the essence of the art which transcends any one pre-arranged poem ( or in our case any one expression via long form of Tai Chi ) , it can be at least as valuable to directly train the fundamental principles of the art, without the constraints of muscle memory being bound to long preset expressions of it. Honing the principles, "tools" & essence of the art with focus during class practice will nurture our ability to express them more spontaneously and uniquely throughout our life.
To use another analogy, the focus is like learning to be a skilled chef. Instead of simply following one or several recipes from a cookbook in ones' learning and career, there can be at least as much or more creative fulfillment and facility nurtured through emphasizing learning to grow healthy, fresh organic foods, attentively sensing & appreciating the qualities of each food then artfully using them to create unique meals.
In the same spirit, I focus Tai Chi Qigong & Zhan Zhuang class experience on nurturing a focused, embodied feeling understanding of basic principles such as relaxed awareness, self-acceptance, a quietly sensing mind, refined fluidity of movement & sensation, kinesthetic and spatial awareness, interplay of yin & yang and balance.
Q ) Will I learn how to fight?
While consistent, focused training in these arts can enhance ones' ability to respond to hostility from others with grace and harmony, I no longer teach the martial arts aspects directly. Following the principle of focus becoming reality, I feel it is much more healthy and worthwhile to focus on practicing these arts for cultivation of holistic health, spiritual awareness, grounded & graceful embodiment of loving & peaceful energy and calm vitality. Training to fight often leads people to view the world and relationships from a subtly or overtly antagonistic or competitive perspective.
Personally and collectively we need more harmony, cooperation, mutual love & support, in my feeling.
At the same time these harmonizing principles & energies developed through such focus of practice can help us respect our autonomy and diffuse potentially hostile situations within oneself and others. Which often helps create a more peaceful situation.
While enhancing ones' agility, balance, empathy, unity, sensitivity and fluidity of perception and movement.
Q ) What methods are used in your classes to cultivate Tai Chi Qigong principles?
This is promoted through a combination of focused practices, including -
* Standing meditations ( Zhan Zhuang ), which train the mind to relax back into our physical expression - the body, with quiet, unassuming awareness often acquainted with zen meditation. We use the feedback between mind, spirit, emotions and body to nurture each other. While "time" is less important than quality & focus of consciousness, generally we will devote @ 20-30 minutes for each hour class to Zhan Zhuang. And a bit more for 1.5 hour classes.
This provides a space to more deeply feel & dissolve any mental, emotional, physical & other energetic noise or blocks which may be skimmed above or ignored but still present when doing only continuous movement or much shorter duration standing meditations.
* Coordination of breathing, awareness, intention and movement.
* Alignment of our physical structure to allow for smooth flow of energy through body into the earth and from the earth out through the body.
* Very slow, mindful movement which fosters subtler awareness, refinement and focus of mind / body unity, transitions and flow of postures, in-the-moment presence and awareness.
* And focused exploratory practice of singular and very short movement flows.
Q ) Do you provide verbal instruction throughout the class duration?
There will be some verbal guidance provided for core alignment & intention aspects of the arts. Though verbal instruction is kept to a bare minimum, to allow for more fully entering into a quiet, meditatively embodied awareness.
In general, explanations or talking every few minutes or so keeps energy at a noisy, mental chatter level of awareness. It is much more valuable in most moments to simply provide a brief explanation of core alignments, movement flow, etc. or answer questions students may have efficiently, then get out of the way in a sense. This allows everyone to open more fully into direct, quietly experiential awareness more subtly & deeply than verbal energy does. Talking also involves projection of the speakers' personal energy into the listeners' energy field. As these arts are meant to nurture each of us regeneratively relaxing home into our own unique essence & experience of universal energy, practicing in quiet awareness & attunement to such is generally much more rewarding and empowering. The experience should not be about the teacher acting like some task master imposing their mental noise & energy on others, but simply as quiet, experienced gentle guides who allow students the space to relax into what we already innately are and wish to be.
The principles are fairly simple and require little initial explanation. The heart of gaining comfort and growth in & through these arts is nurtured in the actual practicing of them. Similar to entering a dimly lit room, as we relax comfortably within and focus, our vision gradually becomes more sensitive and perceptive. As such, while there is verbal instruction provided it is done as minimally as useful. With the focus of teaching being through being, showing & mutual practicing during classes.
Too narrow ideas of the nature of existence can follow you through your life if you do not choose to be spiritually and psychically flexible."

You break away from self-adopted restrictions, and you grow spiritually as you learn to step aside from limiting conceptions and dogmas. Your rate of learning depends entirely upon you, however. Limited, dogmatic, or rigid concepts can hold you back.
Do you require clients be injected with the pharmaceutical company products and wear masks?
I do not give massages to or spend time around people who have symptoms of infectious diseases.
I also do not discriminate against people who exercise their natural human rights & freedom to choose to not be injected with the experimental, profit driven and ineffective covid pharmaceutical drugs that are causing medical issues and even death in many people who were forced to take them or be discriminated against, or wear masks which have been proven to not be effective at preventing covid but do inhibit full breathing & oxygen intake.
And I recognize & admit the fact that most of the claims promoting covid vaccines & masks being pushed by the pharmaceutical companies, mainstream news & many politicians who accept millions of dollars in bribes ( sponsorships, donations, etc ) are deeply biased and misleading at best. Motivated more by profit, paranoia and social control than respect for natural wellness, natural immunity, honesty and respect for individuals natural human & constitutionally affirmed rights & freedom of our own bodies, healthcare and relationships.
I do not require clients be vaccinated or wear oxygen depriving, bacteria growth-enhancing masks which don't even prevent transmission of covid which has a 99.9% survival rate on the off chance its even caught. Though if a client has chosen to be vaccinated and wear masks I will still give sessions for them also. For people who are sick and have symptoms, simply wait to receive sessions until you are recovered.
Many people ( mostly ignored or trivialized by the mainstream media who financially profit from pharmaceutical company ads and "gifts" ) are suffering adverse effects such as heart attacks, cardiac inflammation, strokes, neurological disorders, death and other issues from taking the experimental covid "vaccines". Vaccines which don't even truly prevent catching and spreading covid, and according to some doctors are actually increasing susceptibility to covid, creating novel covid variants, and are weakening the natural immune system strength of those who take the covid "vaccine" injections.
Even in my own experience been around literally thousands of people ( many of them unvaccinated ) since the covid lock-downs happened several years ago ( late 2022 as of writing this ) I did not get covid. Yet 4 days after I was admitted to the hospital in mid 2022 for a totally different ( congenital cardiac ) medical issue during which I was tested and showed negative as not having covid upon admission, I got covid while in the hospital even though the only people I had any contact with was the medical staff who are all forced to be multiple times vaccinated and boosted or they get fired.
The repeatedly vaccinated, boosted and masked staff are who gave me covid!
And when I talked with many of the nursing staff who worked with me, they admitted that even though they and others they know were injected with the vaccines not only did they still get covid, often they had very unpleasant, unhealthy and some even debilitating or fatal reactions to the vaccines themselves. Along with often still having severe symptoms when they got covid even while vaccinated and boosted. Some admitted that family or others they knew suffered neurological, cardiac and other injuries right after & from the vaccines - and they still got symptomatic covid on top of it.
So as long as you are not symptomatic, and of course do not have any contagious condition of any kind, I do not discriminate against people who rely on their bodies natural immune system and being healthy, whether unvaccinated or vaccinated.

I also do not discriminate against people who exercise their natural human rights & freedom to choose to not be injected with the experimental, profit driven and ineffective covid pharmaceutical drugs that are causing medical issues and even death in many people who were forced to take them or be discriminated against, or wear masks which have been proven to not be effective at preventing covid but do inhibit full breathing & oxygen intake.
And I recognize & admit the fact that most of the claims promoting covid vaccines & masks being pushed by the pharmaceutical companies, mainstream news & many politicians who accept millions of dollars in bribes ( sponsorships, donations, etc ) are deeply biased and misleading at best. Motivated more by profit, paranoia and social control than respect for natural wellness, natural immunity, honesty and respect for individuals natural human & constitutionally affirmed rights & freedom of our own bodies, healthcare and relationships.
I do not require clients be vaccinated or wear oxygen depriving, bacteria growth-enhancing masks which don't even prevent transmission of covid which has a 99.9% survival rate on the off chance its even caught. Though if a client has chosen to be vaccinated and wear masks I will still give sessions for them also. For people who are sick and have symptoms, simply wait to receive sessions until you are recovered.
Many people ( mostly ignored or trivialized by the mainstream media who financially profit from pharmaceutical company ads and "gifts" ) are suffering adverse effects such as heart attacks, cardiac inflammation, strokes, neurological disorders, death and other issues from taking the experimental covid "vaccines". Vaccines which don't even truly prevent catching and spreading covid, and according to some doctors are actually increasing susceptibility to covid, creating novel covid variants, and are weakening the natural immune system strength of those who take the covid "vaccine" injections.
Even in my own experience been around literally thousands of people ( many of them unvaccinated ) since the covid lock-downs happened several years ago ( late 2022 as of writing this ) I did not get covid. Yet 4 days after I was admitted to the hospital in mid 2022 for a totally different ( congenital cardiac ) medical issue during which I was tested and showed negative as not having covid upon admission, I got covid while in the hospital even though the only people I had any contact with was the medical staff who are all forced to be multiple times vaccinated and boosted or they get fired.
The repeatedly vaccinated, boosted and masked staff are who gave me covid!
And when I talked with many of the nursing staff who worked with me, they admitted that even though they and others they know were injected with the vaccines not only did they still get covid, often they had very unpleasant, unhealthy and some even debilitating or fatal reactions to the vaccines themselves. Along with often still having severe symptoms when they got covid even while vaccinated and boosted. Some admitted that family or others they knew suffered neurological, cardiac and other injuries right after & from the vaccines - and they still got symptomatic covid on top of it.
So as long as you are not symptomatic, and of course do not have any contagious condition of any kind, I do not discriminate against people who rely on their bodies natural immune system and being healthy, whether unvaccinated or vaccinated.
