Massage Sessions

Massage Philosophy
Depending
on your needs & interests during each of your massage
sessions, your massage can be focused primarily on muscular &
fascial injury recovery, optimization of physical performance
capacity, more unitive emotional - physical meditative nurturance or
a harmonious blending of these approaches. Simply tell me at the
start of and during your massage as feels helpful, what your
personal preferences, boundaries, comfort & enjoyment are at

Rarely slowing down to breath and feel more deeply the natural wisdom & pleasure available in experiencing our embodying life beneath the surface layers. It is often viewed as an extravagance, a waste of precious time in a busy life, even sinful or suspicious, or just not given much consideration.
Yet that attitude disassociates us from a more natural, sensitively loving feeling experience & enjoyment of being human. And consequently of equal respect for diverse personal, relational & other life experiences. And is a major cause of much of the conscious and subconscious normalized stress so many of us live with.
When we give ourselves permission to slow down, we create space to be fully present in our body with a deeply open hearted, sensually alive feeling quality. Which also helps to transform tension, ungroundedness and emotional - mental disconnection into pleasurably peaceful, nurturing balance, relaxation, grace and embodied love.
Sensuality in this context is simply the embodying experience of relaxed, freely flowing loving awareness available through our emotional & bodily experiencing of life and relationships. Beyond socially conditioned, normalized busyness, fears, suspicion, constrictions of energy flow and related disconnection.
This does not mean that we "should" relate to other people & aspects of life in ways we do not truly want to. Only that at times people do really feel, or want to allow themselves to feel & express embodying feelings of play, love, appreciation & natural intimacy in diverse contexts & ways. And with more or different people than they or certain others believe is "normal" or "acceptable" according to some dogmas, fears & related inhibiting beliefs.
But sometimes we go along with suppression & negative judging of ones own and / or others interests in living & relating in more relaxed, openly embodying & affectionate ways. Often in an attempt to seem "normal" and "good" according to normalized but unnatural, narrow dogmas about working hard, relational constructs, etc...
Such attitudes, however tend to constrict life energy from flowing more fully & freely into and through ones being. Creating a more heady, disconnected, tense & less heartfully embodying way of being, perceiving and relating.
In other human cultures, a more natural, beautifully uninhibited openness is more prevalent and considered normal. Rather than being viewed with suspicion and fear, such beings and cultures appreciate & live a more loving, trusting & beautifully intimate openness with themselves, their body, environment, each other & diverse life experiences as the default, healthy perspective & attitude.
Such attitudes express and promote much more relaxed, loving, clear minded and ultimately happier attitudes & thus perspectives about equally valid, while widely diverse life and relational experiences.
Generally, I use a hybrid of massage modalities, and Taoist based meditative practices, to support sensitizing awareness and embodying of harmonizing yin - yang energies, slowing down to more deeply savor ones natural sensual, open hearted feeling awareness & interconnection with life and others, and quieting the mental noise of assumptions, personal biases, fears & shame of this natural ( but not normal in this culture ) sensually sensitive way of being. Depending on your needs & interests during each of your massage sessions, your massage can be focused primarily on muscular & fascial injury recovery, optimization of physical performance capacity, more unitive emotional - physical meditative nurturance or a harmonious blending of these approaches. Simply tell me at the start of and during your massage as feels helpful, what your personal preferences, boundaries, comfort & enjoyment are at that time so that I can understand & give your session accordinSensitively attentive, harmoniously rhythmic, comfortable touch of lighter to deeper pressure, slow myofascial release, assisted stretches and other qualities & techniques are integrated into your massage depending on your expressed boundaries, needs & comfort in the moment. Through embodied meditative practices - experiences such as Tai Chi Qigong, Zhan Zhuang and enjoying receiving deeply present, nurturing massages, we are given reverential space to move beyond normalized disconnection, suspicion & other negative feelings about our own & others embodying spirit & emotions while human, if we choose.
To slow down and feel more clearly, more deeply and lovingly. To refresh, appreciate & further nurture the quiet minded, unified spiritual - emotional - physical awareness - energy giving breath to our embodying experiences. And the resulting deeper unitive relaxation this supports.

" In any kind of relationship, we can make the ( erroneous & misleading ) assumption that others know what we think, and we don’t have to say what we want & don't want. We assume they are going to do what we want because they know us so well.
If they don’t do what we want, we feel hurt and think, How could you do that? You should know. "

Massage Methods Descriptions
Thai massage -
Blend of passive stretches ( client remains relaxed throughout ), cat-like kneading ( minus claws ) of muscle tissue, gentle rocking with massage. Often includes abdominal massage. This style can be done with client on a massage table or at ground level on a mat. When provided on a massage table, some thai massage stretches can involve the massage therapist getting onto the table when providing certain stretches for the recipient in order to have better alignment of stretches & sensitive awareness for the increased comfort & safety of the client, and healthier body mechanics of the practitioner. This is especially helpful when stretching the larger muscle groups of the hips and legs. Swedish massage - One of the most common styles. A generally relaxing, flowing, nurturing massage. Event & Corporate Massage Sessions Mini or full length on-site massage sessions are available using massage chair or table for businesses, events and other occasions. On-Site massages have proven to greatly improve overall morale, creativity, vitality, physical relaxation while increasing mental focus, reduce employee absenteeism and work-related injury claims, and generally provides additional enjoyment of being part of a corporate / work environment which supports the wellness of those contributing to ones business. |
Sports massage -
Integrates elements of deep tissue and trigger point massage. Catering to pre and post sports participation and recovery. Helps improve range of motion, relax overly tight muscles which impede performance, stimulate muscles prior to use, reduce adhesion's which improves refined muscle coordination, flushes toxins from the body, etc.. Integrated massage - Blending of various massage methods including Lomi Lomi, Esalen, Pranic Healing and others ,depending on clientèles need and interest. Deep tissue massage - Focuses on release of deeper layers of muscular and myofascial tension, adhesion's & restrictions. Usually focusing in specific areas of the body. Improves range & fluidity of movement, suppleness, deepens relaxation and other benefits. Deep Tissue massage can feel quite pleasurable, even when sometimes intense, when done sensitively and slowly and with client providing feedback about comfort level. Clients usually feel a deep, blissful relaxation after receiving deep tissue massage. |
" Knowing about is helpful for practical purposes. On that level, we cannot do without it. When it is the predominant modality in relationships, however, it becomes very limiting, even destructive. Thoughts and concepts create an artificial barrier, a separation between human beings. Your interactions are then not rooted in Being, but become mind-based.
Without the conceptual barriers, love is naturally present in all human interactions."
Eckhart Tolle.
Please observe the following considerations for your massage session -
* If you smoke cigarettes, please refrain from smoking or being around smokers after showering prior to your session.
* Any sessions not shown for, cancelled or rescheduled by clients less than 48 hours before scheduled appointment times, require payment in full received by me within one week of originally scheduled session.
* Do not schedule massages if you have a contagious condition of any kind.
* Clear, honest & mutually respectful verbal communication with me about your specific subjective needs, comfort, boundaries, medical issues, interests, etc relative to your massage, before and during your massage is essential! This allows me to know & thereby respect your individual & subjective preferences, boundaries & comfort for your massage during your massage. Which allows both of us to be fully comfortable and respected.
If you do not verbally, honestly and directly mutually respectfully communicate your personal preferences, boundaries and comfort needs to me during your massage when they are relevant, that makes it seem like you are open to and wanting something different, which of course effects your massage experience accordingly.
Since individuals perspectives, comfort, boundaries, interests, needs and interpretations relative to massage and the natural body, such as amount of pressure, draping preferences, pace, range of motion, stretching positions, etc, are all widely subjective, varying from person to person and moment to moment, it is your responsibility as a client to provide me with direct, mutually respectful verbal communication of your preferences, boundaries & any related medical issues before & especially during your massage. As this is essential for me to be able to know and thus respect your subjective, personal perspectives, needs & comfort.
